Answer

This is a much tougher topic. The problem with leasing a laptop is that not only is it expensive to lease one, it is expensive to buy one. There is not much mark up in laptop or notebook computers and they are expensive to have built. You may be able to lease one, but the search is going to be tough. If you lease one, it will probably be worth next to nothing by the time the lease is over and for a couple dollars more.

If your needs are for a short time, or you need several for business, leasing can make sense. The costs overall will be lower for a company leasing several laptops. On the other hand, if you are an individual who needs a laptop for a short time, you will have a tough time finding a short lease with bad credit. I would instead read the answer to Question 7 and apply the same techniques to purchasing, not leasing, a laptop.

At the time of this writing we have still not found a company we feel comfortable enough endorsing, but we will update you if we find one.
